Unless noted, the following data is based upon observations collected by the National Weather Service, Chicago, at O'Hare International Airport (ORD) between November 1978 and last year. Observations have been official at O'Hare since Thursday, January 17, 1980.

According to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), the normal high is 78 and the normal low is 58. The 29-year averages are 80 and 59.

On the hot side, in 2000 the high was 91 with a low of 67. In 1979 the high was 86 with a low of 70. Other hot highs were 90 in 1999 and 88 in 1983. The record high of 101 was set in 1953 and the record warmest low of 78 was set in 1913. 15 of the 29 highs have been in the 80s and 11 have been 70s.

On the cool side, in 1994 the high was 68 with a low of 49. In 1987 the high was 70 with a low of 51. The other cool high was 71 degrees in 1981. The other 40s low was 49 in 2001. The record low of 44 was set in 1946 and the record coolest high of 63 was set in 1935. 15 lows have been in the 60s and 11 lows have been in the 50s.

The following astronomical data is provided by the United States Naval Observatory. In Crystal Lake, twilight begins at 5:51 and sunrise is at 6:20.
Sunset is at 19:25 and twilight ends at 19:53. Twilight begins tomorrow at 5:53 and sunrise is at 6:21.
